About Cynthia…

I have always loved music, a gift from my wonderful, musical parents. Me at about 5 years old, shortly before my formal lessons began:
At age 13, my family visited Ireland and I saw a harp up close for the first time.  I knew instantly that I had found my instrument.  It took another year for me to convince my mother  …and my life with harps began.

In 1985,  I began playing publicly, performing for parties and weddings on the Celtic harp.

By 1988 I had joined The Bramble Band, which played for the monthly balls of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society,  Scottish Highland Games, and other events.

In 1990 I decided to take up the larger, classical version of my instrument: the Pedal Harp.  This was to be one of the most life-changing decisions of my career.
  • 1990-1999 :  studied privately with the internationally known harpist and composer, Lynne Palmer.

I have also had the honor of playing with: Cascadian Chorale,  Central Washington University Orchestra, Bellevue Philharmonic, Choral Sounds Northwest, Everett Symphony, Thalia Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, and the Northwest Mahler Festival. My continued involvement in the Celtic harp has included numerous performances at the Scottish Highland Games in Enumclaw and Skagit Valley WA.
