Cynthia Kuni has performed for weddings and events in the Puget Sound area since 1985. Her repertoire includes Classical, Celtic, and Popular music. She performs on both the Concert Grand pedal harp and the Celtic harp, specializing in Scottish music with the latter.
In 1985, I began playing publicly, performing for parties and weddings on the Celtic harp.
By 1988 I had joined The Bramble Band, which played for the monthly balls of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, Scottish Highland Games, and other events.
- 1990-1999 : studied privately with the internationally known harpist and composer, Lynne Palmer.
- Fall 1994 – Spring 2003, Fall 2004 – Spring 2008, and Fall 2016 onward: Principal harpist for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra.
- 1998 – 2000: Served as President of the Greater Seattle Chapter of the American Harp Society.
- 2002: Opened teaching studio.
I have also had the honor of playing with: Cascadian Chorale, Central Washington University Orchestra, Bellevue Philharmonic, Choral Sounds Northwest, Everett Symphony, Thalia Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, and the Northwest Mahler Festival. My continued involvement in the Celtic harp has included numerous performances at the Scottish Highland Games in Enumclaw and Skagit Valley WA.
